This blog chronicles the travels of Andrew and Laurel on their 20 metre barge Affleur D'O through the canals of France in 2010 and 2011.
In 2010 we left Roanne - our home port - and travelled along the canal du centre, and the Soane to complete a circular trip through the Canal de Bourgogne, and the Nivernais.
For 2011 we decided to travel with our car and have a more leisurly trip up and down the Canal Lateral heading towards Paris. We will be stopping just South of Paris at Montargis before turning round and heading for home. With the car we plan to do lots of exploring away from the canal.
As we enter our fifth year of cruising we have regretfully decided to place our beloved home on the market. We have listed it on Apollo Duck http://barges.apolloduck.com/feature.phtml?id=196809 . It will be strange to leave our home and return to Oz where we will have to buy a house and continue our travelling in a Motor home!
